Everything started when we wanted to add a directory to our blog. We tested every directory plugin we did find and either where they not like we wanted or not updated for a long time. Many didn’t even work at all even if they was for download at WordPress.org.
So we decided to make something about it and started to devlop a link directory plugin. First we cut and past code from all directories we tested but was not pleased with the results. We also got ideas from other directories how we wanted our plugin to look like.
With the time we ended up with a plugin coded to 95% by us and we are pleased with what we have created. And we have a lot on our to do list and hope you help us out with feedback on what we can improve to make this link directory plugin to #1.
At the moment the features are:
- Directory is based on pages and not posts
- Each page get extension .html
- Optimized for SEO
- Email notification option when a new link is added
- Every link get a thumb image of the linked page
- Supports Akismet to prevent spam
